The designer : Ysolda Teague is one of the best-known knitting designers, notably with her flagship model, the Ishbel shawl. She offers us original models with attention to detail and a lot of creativity in construction and knitting techniques.


The Abbeyhill sweater by Ysolda Teague

The model: a seamless sweater knitted from bottom to top, with a wide band of cables at the bottom.


The pattern: the original pattern in English is printed on Bristol sheets and its translation into French (no download possible).


Wool

Sports wool with good elasticity, pure wool, or blended with wool.

the pattern is knitted with Tukuwool Sock (80% Finnish wool, 20% nylon, 175 yds / 160m, 50g).

Shown in color Repo in size 3 and Ruura in size 5.

Sample

22 stitches over 28 rounds: 10cm in stockinette stitch with the widest needles, in the round.

The twist repeat measures: 11cm high by 10cm wide.


Other tools

marker rings, scraps of wool and cable needle.

Use different colors of marker rings, which you can think of as A, B and C.

They must be different from the start of turn marker.

1 start of rounds marker, 4 A markers and 2 C markers for all sizes.

Markers B: 8 for sizes 1-4 / 10 for sizes 5-9 / 14 for sizes 10-12

Presented in size 3 with 17.5cm of ease and in size 5 with 12.5cm of ease.

Choose a size with 10 to 20cm of ease in the chest circumference.


Needles

Needles A : circular 4mm length 60cm.

In addition: sizes 3-15, cable 80cm / sizes 8-15, cable 100cm.

For these sizes, start with the longest cable, then take the shorter ones as you decrease.

Needles B : 4mm circular or double pointed for small diameters and small sizes.

Needles C : 3.5mm circular or double pointed for small diameters and small sizes.
