Grandma Collar knitting pattern by Made in Laine in pdf

Knitted model by Made In Laine.

This collar model is inspired by Red Riding Hood's basket, intended for her grandmother.

There we find the basket weaving stitch and an imaginary cake in successive layers of forest fruits and cream.

This is the shape of the collar that I prefer, loose and high. It will sit delicately on your shoulders and the height of the collar is in different superimposed thicknesses to keep you warm. If you zip up your garment, you can pull the collar up over your ears for a double dose of warmth.

This pattern is knitted in the round from bottom to top without sewing.

 Wool

Double light fingering wool for A and B

Thick mohair wool in single for C (or two fine mohair threads in double)

Yarn A (double knitted along the collar): Coast wool from Holst Garn (55% merino, 45% cotton; 350m / 50g), Cassis color; 70g.

Yarn B (double knitted along the collar): Coast wool from Holst Garn (55% merino, 45% cotton; 350m / 50g), Nutmeg color; 55g.

Yarn C (single knit): Mohair from France (pure Chevreau Mohair; 100m; 50g): pale pink color, 30g.

Note: you can use two double fingering threads, the collar will be a little larger.

Circular needles length 60-80cm

4.5mm and 4mm needles for the ribs.

Or the size of needles needed to obtain the sample, even if the sample is not essential on this model. Too much difference can lead to footage discrepancies.
