Ornas hat and mittens knitting pattern by Ysolda Teague

The designer : Ysolda Teague is one of the best-known knitting designers, notably with her flagship model, the Ishbel shawl. She offers us original models with attention to detail and a lot of creativity in construction and knitting techniques.

The model : Jacquard hat and mittens with a pattern inspired by Swedish birch trees.

The pattern: the original pattern in English and its translation into French (no download possible), are printed on bristol paper by me.

Wool

Thick fingering wool or Sport.

Rauma Finullgarn (100% Norwegian wool, 191 yds / 175m, 1.76oz / 50g)

color A: 498, color B: 403

 

Hat : 95[100]m of color A / 60[65]m of color B

Mittens : 155[175]m of color A / 15[130]m of color B

 

Needles

3.75mm needles, 40cm circular or double pointed needles for knitting small circumferences.

 

Sample

27 stitches and 30 rounds / 10cm by 10cm in jacquard in the round.

Hat : head circumference: 48(54.5)cm / height: 19[20.5]cm at center front.

Mittens : circumference at the knuckles: 17.5[20.5]cm / Height: 34cm unfolded
